The Walpole Recreation Department is gearing up for our biggest event of the year on Saturday, May 18th..Walpole Day! In its 6th year, Walpole Day has grown year by year since it's inception. The parade is bigger, the crowds are bigger, and the fun is bigger! The parade will leave from Walpole High School at noon time on Saturday, and comes down Common Street. There are some great floats and plenty of Walpole pride on display. There will be local organizations, sports teams, charitable groups, music bands and businesses vying for "Best Float". After the parade ends, the crowds flood the field at Stone Field behind Town Hall. There will be over 100 vendors/exhibitors set up with plenty to see. Some of the fun will include a dunk tank run by the Walpole Police Department, bouncy houses, a fire hose game with the Fire Department, and plenty of raffles, games and activities. This is a great family event, and there is something for all ages. There will be food tents serving snacks, lunch and beverages. Walpole Day wraps up with the Wacky Quacky Duck Race at 3:30 at the bridge over Memorial Pond. Numbered ducks go into the water, and the first one over the finish line wins it's owner a $1000.00 prize. Ducks are for sale at Blackburn and walpolerec.com.
