Walpole Girls' Basketball to Open MIAA State Tourney Against Bishop Feehan Wednesday

Rebels earn 10th seed in MIAA Division 2 South Sectional State Tournament.

The Walpole High School girls' basketball team learned Friday it will be opening the MIAA Division 2 South Sectional State Tournament in Attleboro next week against Bishop Feehan.

Walpole (13-7) drew Bishop Feehan, the tournament's seventh seed, in the opening round after earning the tournament's 10th seed. The Rebels are 4-4 in their last eight games but are currently on a three-game losing streak. Walpole lost both games of the Rebel Hoop Classic this week, falling to Oliver Ames, 53-39 and Norwell, 55-51.

Bishop Feehan (16-3) has won 9 of its last 10 games and held an 11-game winning streak earlier this season - snapped on Feb. 14 vs. Arch. Williams. On Jan. 29, Sierra Schrader became the 13th Bishop Feehan basketball player to reach the 1,000-point plateau.

The game will be played on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at Bishop Feehan. Tip-off is 5 p.m.
