Walpole Football Coach Greener Talks Natick Matchup

Walpole head football coach Barry Greener said last week that star running back Mike Rando has a 50-50 shot at playing in Friday's game against Natick.

The Walpole Rebels (9-0) will play what head football coach Barry Greener expects to be a 'classic' against Herget Division foe Natick (8-1) on the road Friday at 7 p.m.

Walpole beat Dedham, 47-0, Friday, Nov. 2 at Turco Field.

Natick fell for the first time this season to Wellesley, 40-34, last week.

Putting up an average of 41 points per game this season, compared to allowing an average of only 4, Greener's team will face their toughest challenge yet.

"Offensively, we've got to continuously move the ball. Defensively, keep the ball in front of us and make some big plays," he said.

The Redhawks - ranked 10th in Mass. by Boston.com and 21st in the state by EPSNBoston.com - have a strong offense averaging 34 points per game this season. They have also allowed 14 points per game this year.

A win for the Rebels will put them in the driver's seat for a Herget Division championship and a trip to the playoffs.

A loss would tie Natick for the division lead and all would hinge on Thanksgiving Day.
