The Walpole boys basketball team lost for the first time in nearly three weeks, 69-56, Tuesday at home to Norwood.
For four Rebels it was a bittersweet night as the team honored their seniors Johnny Adams, Nathan Cameron, Steve Bean and Ronnie Shephard.
The seniors were honored on the court with their loved ones before the game.
Norwood proved to be too much to handle for Rebels who were outplayed on both ends of the court.
Norwood's defense forced several missed shots and turnovers and Walpole found themselves down by as many as 16 points late in the third quarter.
The Rebels, however, showed some resiliancy cutting the lead to 8 points with 1:51 to go in the fourth quarter. It wasn't enough as Norwood answered down the stretch to take the win on Walpole's Senior Night.
Norwood junior Charlie Crockett led all players with 21 points. Seniors Dan Flahive and Patrick O'Rourke chipped in with 13 points, respectively.
Walpole's Ryan Fogarty led the Rebels with 18 points on the night. Junior Maurice Young scored 12 points.
The Orange and Blue were sporting pink warmup t-shirts to help raise awareness for breast cancer as part of the Bay State League's Think Pink initiative.
Now 10-7 on the season the Rebels will move on to face Braintree on the road Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
