Walpole Boys Hockey Wins Season Opener Against Rival Natick

The win was the first for new Walpole head coach Ron Dowd.

The Walpole boys hockey team got off to an impressive start to their season Wednesday night beating Herget Division rival Natick, 4-0.

Senior captain John White scored a goal and added an assist to lead the way for the Rebels. Tyler Bailey, Matt Bender and Alex Carde each chipped in with a goal apiece.

Senior goaltender Ray Mortali pitched a shutout for the Orange and Blue stopping 17 Natick shots.

Walpole scored three goals in the third period with only six shots on net.

The Rebels' next game is on the road at Newton North, Saturday Dec. 15. at 4 p.m.
