Bay State Conference Football Teams Would Switch to Different Divisions After Realignment

Under the new football proposal, Walpole and Norwood will be in the same division, while Dedham will be two divisions lower.

After hearing appeals from high schools about where their football teams are slotted in the new football playoffs, the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association football committee granted seven appeals out of 10 that were requested, according to a report in the Boston Herald.

The appeals for Arlington Catholic, Pope John, Matignon, Boston Latih, Diman, Mashpee and Maryland were approved.

Bay State Conference rivals Walpole and Norwood would be headed for the Division 3 Southwest, where they would be competing with North Quincy, North Attleboro, Oliver Ames, Hingham, Milford, Stoughton, Norwood, Walpole, Hopkinton, Milton, Medfield, Bishop Feehan.

Dedham would be in Division 4 with Bishop Stang, Coyle-Cassidy, Canton, Dennis-Yarmouth, Middleboro, Westwood, Foxborough, Apponequet, Hanover, Holliston, Norton, Scituate, Wareham and Medway.
