Update: Walpole Schools Will Be Open Tuesday

Update- 10:30 p.m.- Walpole Town Adminitstrator Michael Boynton spoke with Walpole Schools Superintendent Lincoln Lynch and Walpole Schools are expected to be open on Tuesday, Oct. 30.

Lynch will check the status of any school power outages and/or major road closures with Walpole Police at 5 a.m. to see if there needs to be a change in plan.

Update 9:45 p.m.- Walpole now has 521 outages reported, only 5-percent of the town without power.

After Hurricane Sandy battered the East Coast Monday, we look ahead to tomorrow in Walpole where schools superintendent Lincoln Lynch said it "looks good" that Walpole Public Schools will be in session Tuesday, Oct. 30.

He said, however, it is "too close to call" and the final decision will be made at 5 a.m.

School was not in session Monday at the request of Gov. Deval Patrick who declared a state of emergency.

Tuesday's weather is expected to be windy with showers. The National Weather Service has a High Wind Warning and a Hazardous Weather Outlook in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.

As of 8:45 p.m., Walpole had 1,290 outages, 13-percent of the town's 10,255 NSTAR customers.

There is still no word on the Norfolk County Agricultural School either.
