School Business Administrator Michael Friscia thanked Don Anderson and Bob LeBlanc for their efforts relative to summer maintenance of the buildings and grounds, respectively. He also said another bus must be added to resolve overcrowding issues on certain routes.

The school committee also acknowledged the custodians' efforts over the summer to get the school buildings ready for the new school year. Many of our schools host summer programs, such as: summer school, summer academy, summer sports, and a multitude of other programs that provide enrichment, entertainment and learning opportunities for many Walpole students. Although these are great opportunities for our students, they present many challenges for our custodial staff because they have a short window to get the schools in shape for the start of school. It was noted by the administration the custodians work together as a group and take pride in the buildings.
