Selectmen Seek Input From Residents on Marijuana Law Tonight

The meeting will be at Walpole Town Hall at 7:30 p.m.

The Walpole Board of Selectmen will be hosting a discussion on medical marijuana and the potential for a dispensary in Walpole, Tuesday night at Town Hall at 7:30 p.m.

The selectmen will be reviewing the results of a two question survey for residents asking if they would be in favor of a dispensary in Walpole and if so, where in town it should be located.

The board may then vote on whether to set up bylaws to ban dispensaries in Walpole altogether.

They are encouraging residents to attend meeting to give feedback on the new law.

In the November elections, Massachusetts voted to approve Question 3 which legalized medical marijuana on the state level. Walpole also voted to approve the ballot question on election day with 7,492 votes for 'Yes' and 6,164 votes for 'No'.
