Walpole Police Log: Car Fire and Shoplifting Arrests

The following information was provided by the Walpole Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Friday- Feb. 15, 2013

Shoplifting- 5:31 p.m.

565 Main Street- Report of a shoplifter. Janice Benjamin, 46, of 100 Winslow Avenue, Norwood, Mass. was arrested for alleged Shoplifting by Concealing Merchandise and on three outstanding warrants.

Officer Wanted- 7:30 p.m.

Common Street- A motorist reported that youths were throwing snowballs at passing vehicles. Youths were gone on arrival.

Saturday- Feb. 16, 2013

Larceny- 1:36 p.m.

Common Street- Party came into the station to report that her cell phone was stolen at school. Report taken.

Fire- 5:06 p.m.

Main Street- 9-1-1 caller reported a motor vehicle engine fire.

Officer Wanted- 6:08 p.m.

Route 1- 9-1-1 caller requested police for two females who were in the store that had previously made threats. Report taken.

Motor Vehicle Accident- 6:15 p.m.

Kendall Street- Motor vehicle accident reported, no injuries. Car hit a fire hydrant. DPW notified.

 

Sunday- Feb. 17, 2013

Water Problems- 9:43 a.m.

Morningside Drive- Callers reported that there was no running water in the area. DPW reported that were aware and would be repairing.

Suspicious Motor Vehicles- 2:00 p.m.

Summer Street- DPW reported two trucks near the water tank. The parties were spoken to about trespassing.

Shoplifting- 3:24 p.m.

999 Route 1- Loss prevention reported a shoplifter. Michael D. Blais, 26, of 68 North Washington Street, Apt. 510, North Attleboro, Mass. was arrested for alleged Shoplifting by Asportation.

Ambulance- 9:59 p.m.

Cedar Street- Party came into the lobby to report her cousin was intoxicated and feared she may harm herself. Units responded.
