Walpole Man Faces 7 Charges Following Hit and Run in Foxborough

James A. McEachern, 23, of 25 Eldor Drive in Walpole allegedly fled the scene of an accident in Foxborough.

FOXBOROUGH-A Walpole man was arrested Monday by Foxborough police on seven charges following an alleged motor vehicle hit and run in town.

James A. McEachern, 23, of 25 Eldor Dr., Walpole was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, carrying a dangerous weapon (switchblade), malicious destruction of property over $250, leaving scene of property damage, assault with a dangerous weapon, threat to commit crime (to wit kill/shoot) and malicious damage to motor vehicle following the alleged incident at 60 Railroad Ave. in Foxborough just before 10:30 p.m.

Foxborough police received a call just before 10:30 p.m. from 60 Railroad Ave. reporting a motor vehicle hit and run with property damage. Caller told police the operator left the scene in a Hyundai with a black hood. Foxborough police officer Mark Bohnenberger responded to the scene and reported damage to a mailbox and a motor vehicle at 60 Railroad Ave.

At 11:08 p.m. Walpole police responded to 25 Eldor Dr. to look for the motor vehicle involved in the hit and run. Walpole police reported the vehicle was in the driveway with heavy damage.

At 11:26 p.m. Foxborough police officer James Payne reported he had stopped McEachern on South Street in Foxborough. Officer Payne told dispatch the Walpole resident was not responding to his commands and Foxborough police officers Hoffman, Morrison and Bohnenbergrer responded to assist Payne on South Street.

At 11:29 p.m. McEachern was taken into custody by Foxborough police and transported to the station for booking.
