Walpole Obituary: Paul J. Sullivan

Mr. Sullivan was a resident of Walpole for the past 53 years.

Paul J. Sullivan age 85 years died in the Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Sunday, December 30, 2012. Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts on December 6, 1927, he was the son of the late James and Mabel (Taber) Sullivan. He graduated from Boston Technical High School with the class of 1945. After graduation, Mr. Sullivan proudly served his country in the United States Army at the end of World War II. He has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts for the past 53 years moving from Dorchester.

He was a plumber for 40 years, working for the Plumbers and Gasfitters Union Local 12 in Boston. He retired in 1988.

Mr. Sullivan attended daily Mass and prayed the Rosary daily at Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He enjoyed bowling, gardening, carpentry, reading, and was an avid sports fan. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Beloved husband of Joan V. (McEleney) Sullivan. Loving father of Paul M. Sullivan and his wife Nancy of Stoughton, Marie F. Ross and her husband Dennis of Wrentham, Kevin G. Sullivan and his wife Carla of Foxboro, JoAnn C. Murphy and her husband Martin of Northborough, Brian J. Sullivan of Wrentham, Gerard F. Sullivan of Foxboro, and the late Carol A. Greene. Father in law of Gary Greene of Mansfield. Cherished grandfather of Ashley, Christopher, Brittany, Sean, Megan, Ryan, Matthew, Kristen, Joseph, Amanda, Tyler and great grandfather of Kelli. Brother of Russell Sullivan of FL, the late James Sullivan, the late Gladys Hanlon, and the late Claire McCarthy.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours are Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 4 to 8 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment Saint Francis Cemetery.
