Walpole Obituary: John C. Jarvis

Mr. Jarvis was a graduate of Walpole High School, class of 1948.

John C. Jarvis, died Thursday at age 82 November 22 at the Copley Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was the son of the late William and Margaret (Bullock) Jarvis. John was born on October 11, 1930 in Norwood.

He was a graduate of Walpole High School, Class of 1948. John proudly served his country in the US Navy Sea Bees during the Korean War. He married his late wife Joan Marie (Cunningham) on November 24, 1956. He has been a Foxborough resident for over fifty years.

John was the owner and operator of John Jarvis and Sons Masonry for many years. He loved his work and spending time with his family. He was an avid bowler and New England sports fan. He was a long time member of the Foxborough Knights of Columbus Council 6063.

Beloved husband of the late Joan Marie (Cunningham) Jarvis. Devoted father of John "Jack" Jarvis and his wife Catherine of Wrentham, Patricia Simonson and her husband James of Raynham and Peter Jarvis of Norfolk and his late wife Yvette. Devoted grandfather of Kelsey, Christopher and John Simonson. Brother of Dorothy Walsh, James Jarvis, Sister Mary William, and the late Margaret Wilbur, Helen Spillane, Louise Davis, Hazel Whalen Doane, Peter Jarvis, Ruth Allen, Mary Sherwood, William Jarvis and Marion Duquette. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 26 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, 58 Carpenter Street, Foxborough. To light a special candle in John's memory, please visit the funeral home web site at www.robertsandsonsfuneralhome.com.
