Walpole Obituary: Helen Mary Vitartis

Ms. Vitartis was a former employee for the Walpole Bottling Company.

Helen Mary (Waltonen) Vitartis, 86, of Walpole died December 31 in the Maples Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wrentham. She was the wife of the late Charles A. Vitartis and the late William W. Bennett.

Born in Walpole, January 14, 1926, the daughter of the late John and Ainna (Jussila) Waltonen, Mrs. Vitartis was a lifelong Walpole resident.

She had worked for 15 years as a quality control manager for the Harrison Specialty company.

She had previously worked for the Walpole Bottling company and the Just Rite cleaners.

Helen was a member of the Emblem Club of Norwood.

She is survived by her children, Michael W. Bennett of New Hampshire. Patricia Shipps and her husband John of Wrentham and David W. Bennett and his wife Lori of Houston, Texas. She was the step mother of the late Alice Pitts.

She was the sister of the late Paavo and Onni Waltonen.

Helen is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday January 4 in the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main Street in Walpole at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Walpole.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4-8.
