Walpole Obituary: Elwin S. Tetreault

Mr. Tetreault was a former member of the Walpole Finance Committee.

Elwin S. Tetreault age 94 years died in his Walpole, Massachusetts home on Tuesday, November 13, 2012. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts on August 13, 1918, he was the son of the late Ivan N. and Rena G. (Riendeau) Tetreault. He graduated from Classical High School in Springfield with the class of 1936. He went on to graduate from the American International College in Springfield with the class of 1940. He earned his Master’s Degree in Accounting from Boston University in 1941. Mr. Tetreault proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant during World War II. He has been a resident of Walpole since 1953 moving there from Brookline.

He was an accountant for 33 years at Fulham & Maloney in Boston and retired in 1984.

Mr. Tetreault was a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club and was a former member on the Finance Committee in the Town of Walpole.

He enjoyed painting, camping, keeping up on sports, and was an avid reader. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and was especially devoted to his daughter Dawn Marie.

Beloved husband of Helena W. (Webber) Tetreault. Loving father of Denise Tetreault of Walpole, Dianne Goodrich and her husband Gregg of Gorham, Maine, Doreen Chevalier and her husband Rene of Mansfield, Deb Richall and her husband Kevin of Walpole, Dennis Tetreault and his wife Kathy of Walpole, and Dawn Marie Tetreault of Walpole. Cherished grandfather of Kelly Richall, Grant, Derek, and Nathan Goodrich, and Jacqui and Riley Tetreault. Brother of Shirley Apanaschik of Waterford, CT and the late Beverly Higgins.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours are Friday, November 16, 2012 from 4-7 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
