Walpole Resident Carol Ann 'Sissy' Johnson Dies After Courageous Battle with Breast Cancer

Ms. Johnson was a resident of East Walpole and was a registered nurse.

Carol Ann “Sissy” (West) Johnson, RN, of East Walpole, MA formerly of North Providence, RI passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in the Charlwell House in Norwood, MA after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Born in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of Lucille C. (Neveu) West of Woonsocket and the late Paul C. West. Carol was a graduate of Saint Xavier’s and Saint Joseph’s School of Nursing and was an operating room nurse for 40 years, working at The Fatima Hospital in North Providence and Norwood Hospital before retiring.

She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Harry “Butch” Johnson, Sr. Carol leaves her sister Cathy Ann White and her husband Arthur of Harrisville, RI, her step son Harry Johnson, Jr., his wife Juli of Milford, MA and their daughter Michaela, and her step son Joseph Johnson, his companion Kerry and her daughter Kayla of Walpole. She also leaves her “Aunt Bobby”, Barbara Butters, her special cousin Jeanne Burns, her dear friends Sheila O’Brian and Peggy Smith.

Carol loved all animals and the beach, especially Block Island.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Saturday at 10AM. Visiting hours are Friday from 5-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Medfield Animal Shelter PO Box 271 Medfield, MA 02052.
