Marilyn A. (Shea) DeMatteo Dies at 75; Lived in Walpole for 47 Years

Marilyn DeMatteo, 75, of East Walpole, died May 16, 2013.

Marilyn A. (Shea) DeMatteo, 75, of East Walpole, died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at her home.

She was the wife of Anthony P. DeMatteo who died in 1965.

Born in Boston on July 16, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Timothy F. and Eileen M. (Hogan) Shea.

Mrs. DeMatteo grew up in Hyde Park and graduated from Hyde Park High School. She was a resident of East Walpole for the past 47 years.

Before her retirement, she worked at the former Polaroid Corporation for 22 years.

Mrs. DeMatteo was devoted to her family, especially her daughters and grandchildren.

She is survived by her two daughters Maryanne Ball and her husband Richard J. of Walpole and Lisa M. MacDonald and her husband W. John of Stoughton; and her five grandchildren Steven D. Schauerte of Sharon, Franco A. and Gabriella Francioso, both of Walpole, and Mathew P. and Olivia E. MacDonald, both of Stoughton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Tuesday, May 28 at St. Mary’s Church in East Walpole at 9 a.m. Burial will take place privately at New Calvary Cemetery in Roslindale. Calling hours are respectively omitted.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. DeMatteo’s memory to Old Colony Hospice - Development Office, One Credit Union Way, 4th floor, Randolph, MA 02368-4172.
