Donald P. Moscatelli Dies at 69; Walpole Business Owner

Mr. Donald Moscatelli also was owner and chief recording engineer at Blanche Studios.

Donald P. Moscatelli, 69 years old, died peacefully at home in Walpole after a brief illness. Born on Feb. 28, 1944, he was the son of the late Ulisse D. Moscatelli and the late Julia (Miele) Moscatelli. Donald was a 1961 graduate of Dedham High and attended Wentworth Institute. He served in the Naval Air Reserve as an Aviation Electrician's Mate.

He worked at Mello-Tone and a Boston radio station for a short time and for several years he was part owner of Peter's Record One-Stop, reporting to Billboard Magazine. He later installed home theater and audio systems.

Mr. Moscatelli also was owner and chief recording engineer at Blanche Studios in Walpole. He was sought after by many bands, songwriters and recording artists for his skillful recording techniques and his ability to truly capture the artist’s expression and vision on the end result. Although he did not play an instrument, music was his true life force.

Donald is survived by his brother, Richard A. Moscatelli and sister-in-law Janet E. Moscatelli along with his niece Bianca Moscatelli and nephew Alexander Moscatelli. He also leaves behind his longtime friend of 40 years, Virginia Sumner of Foxborough.

A memorial service will held at Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St., Foxboro, Saturday, May 11, at 6 p.m.
