Nicholas M. Perella Dies at 74; Founder, President of Walpole Gridiron Boosters Club

Mr. Perella was a resident of Walpole since 1966.

Nicholas M. Perella age 74 years died in the Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts on Thursday, April 4, 2013. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 11, 1938, he was the son of the late John D. and Elizabeth (Falcione) Perella. He graduated from Boston English High School with the class of 1956. Mr. Perella proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in France. He has been a resident of Walpole, Massachusetts since 1966 moving from Jamaica Plain.

He was the general sales manager for Boch Oldsmobile on Route 1 in Norwood for 25 years, retiring in 1988.

Mr. Perella was the founder and the president of the Walpole Gridiron Boosters Club and was the Master of Ceremonies at the banquets.

He was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed playing solitare. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Beloved husband of Kathryn T. (Coffey) Perella. Loving father of Joanne Healy and her husband James of Montclair, VA, Daniel J. Perella and his wife Brenda of Bellingham, Mary Kay Driscoll and her husband John of Medway, and Nicholas M. Perella, II and his wife Jamie of Franklin. Cherished grandfather Jack Healy, Michael Healy, Brandon Perella, Joseph Perella, Michelle Varey, Daniel Perella, Nicholas Driscoll, Danielle Driscoll, Andrew Perella, and Emma Perella, and great grandfather of Cecelia Varey and Daniel Perella. Brother of Jean Fairneny of West Roxbury, Mario Perella of Abington, Joseph Perella of Hanover, John Perella of Everett, Ann Wescott of Middleboro, Elizabeth Conley of Plainville, and Michael Perella of Sharon. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church East Street (Route 27) at Diamond Street Walpole on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours are Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 2-6 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home 48 Common Street Walpole. Interment will be in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
