Snow Expected to Start Falling Friday Morning

The heaviest snow is predicted to begin Friday night into Saturday morning.

Expect to see snow begin to fall around 9 a.m. Friday morning throughout the region with heavier snow coming Friday night into Saturday.

The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a blizzard warning from 6 a.m. Friday to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Whiteout conditions are expected and Gov. Deval Patrick is asking non-emergency personnel to stay off the roads after noon Friday.

Walpole will be in a state of emergency beginning at 7 a.m. Friday. Shelters will be set up at the Walpole Senior Center and Walpole Library. Town officials are asking residents to report any emergencies by calling 9-1-1.

An overnight parking ban will be strictly enforced in Walpole. Any cars impeding snow removal operations will be towed.

All schools and town offices will be closed Friday.
