A 15-year-old Attleboro male was arraigned Thursday in Taunton Juvenile Court for attempted murder and various other charges after he stabbed, attempted to drown and attempted to kill by asphyxiation a 63-year-old female neighbor Wednesday night, Attleboro police reported. The victim was at Rhode Island Hospital as of Thursday, and her injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to the police.

91-year-old Man Brutally Beaten at BJ's Parking Lot

At around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, a 91-year-old man was attacked in his car at the BJ's parking lot, FOX 25 reported.

According to Dedham Police the man was putting groceries in his car when the suspect opened the passenger door and then punched and choked him.  The suspect then stole his wallet.

Milo the Dog Euthanized

After biting a second person over the weekend, Milo the dog was euthanized during the afternoon of March 4 according to animal control officer Jeff Collins.

The teenager suffered serious injuries to her face but her current condition is unknown.

Norwood Police Arrest Man for Possession of 6 Pounds of Marijuana

On Tuesday Norwood Police arrested Romeo W. McCubbin, 24, for the possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of ammunition without a Firearm Identification Card (FID).

On Monday the USPS delivered a package to a residence in Norwood.  But it was later discovered that the recipient did not live at the residence and the package was returned.

Postal Investigators then indicated that the package contained marijuana.

Walpole Schools Chief: Cameras in School Hallways 'Meant to Save Lives' not 'Invade Students' Privacy'

Walpole Public Schools Superintendent Lincoln Lynch gave a statement Friday, March 1 about concerns regarding the potential installation of security cameras in the hallways of the schools.

The cameras are part of a capital budget request that will go before Town Meeting to install additional security cameras in all Walpole Public Schools, including in hallways.

A students group has formed at the high school, Students Against Surveillance, who are against the installation of cameras in the hallways of the school. They believe the hallway cameras would invade their privacy and are not worth the estimated $37,000 to put in the high school.

An alleged drunk driver led Stoughton Police on a high speed chase into Brockton early last Sunday morning, according to Executive Officer Robert Devine.

Stoughton Police Sgt. John Bonney attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Jayson Zimmerman, 29, of Country Club Dr. in Randolph, on Park St. near Alger Way in Stoughton, but Zimmerman kept driving, with the pursuit eventually ending at 339 Arthur Paquin Way in Brockton, about four miles away.

Zimmerman faces several charges in addition to OUI, including assaulting a police officer.

Patriot Place ‘Well Below’ Expected Public Safety Impact While Exceeding Town’s Revenue Projections

With an unprecedented commitment to public safety and alcohol management, Patriot Place is operating well below the development’s expected public safety impact in Foxborough, according to a performance analysis presented by Patriot Place General Manager Brian Earley.

“For a development of Patriot Place’s size and significant food and beverage business our tenants generate, these are significantly smaller public safety incidents relative to what other developments of this size are experiencing,” Earley said of the public safety data presented at Tuesday’s Board of Selectmen meeting.

Earley and Dan Murphy, the Kraft Group's Vice President of Business Development and External Affairs, were invited to Tuesday’s board meeting to discuss Patriot Place’s performance to date and where the development was in relation to the town’s revenue and public safety projections from the 2006-07 Koff Report.

“Goal of presentation was to give a little perspective in what I consider to be a perception vs. reality gap regarding Patriot Place and most specifically public safety,” Earley said.

The data presented Tuesday showed Patriot Place outperformed revenue projections in fiscal year 2012 by 50 percent while operating under 75 percent of the expected public safety impact.

Two teens were arrested by Easton Police Monday after allegedly robbing and assaulting another teen.

Michael Bunce-Grenon, 19, of 19 Dennison Court in Stoughton was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and robbery. A 15-year-old Easton resident was arrested on the same charges.

Police Chief Allen Krajcik said the incident occurred at approximately 4 p.m. near Frothingham Park.

Norton Wants to Retry Solar Power at Landfill

Norton selectman Robert Kimball said on Thursday that he received a letter from a solar company that wishes to build a solar generating area at the landfill.

Kimball said that the monies obtained for the town over a 20-year period would equal $5M with this particular company’s planned claim.

Norton town manager Michael Yunits said the town had tried this before and the company on which they placed the bid never even started, and the town would be better served if they sent out a request for qualifications rather than a request for a proposal bid.
