STORM UPDATE: Region Could See 6-10 Inches From Weekend Snowstorm

The snow is expected to be wet and heavy and may cause power outages.

UPDATE Feb. 21, 10:00 p.m.- Another weekend snowstorm is expected to blanket the region as forecasters are predicting Walpole could get 6-10 inches of snow Saturday and Sunday.

According to WHDH meteorologist Pete Bouchard, snowfall is predicted to begin Saturday afternoon and will continue through midday Sunday.

"After midnight, the storm will get a little meatier. Snow intensity will increase into Sunday morning. Heavy snow through Sunday morning. Tapering to flurries by mid afternoon on Sunday," Bouchard writes in his weather blog.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Norfolk County as of 5:05 p.m. Thursday. They are calling for the region to get 6-10 inches of snow.

The snow is expected to be wet and heavy and may cause power outages.

Once again, the snow is melting. But once again, don't put the shovels away. Because once again, the weekend is bringing us more snow.

A new snowstorm is headed our way for Saturday and Sunday, and Walpole could see up to 8 inches of new snow before it's done.

On his blog, WHDH meteorologist Pete Bouchard is calling for light rain along the coast Saturday with snow inland and snow everywhere by Sunday morning. There may also be some coastal flooding.

"Heavy snow through early morning Sunday. Roads will be tough to travel, and yes, your flight will most likely be delayed or cancelled. (Although I don't run an airline, so I'll let them have the final word.)," Bouchard writes.

As of now, forecasts call for 4 to 8 inches of new snow in the south eastern part of the state and 8 to 12 inches in the northern part.
