Boyden School Teacher Wins 10,000 Box Tops for Education

Boyden School teacher Lori Wilson will have her photo featured on select boxes of Totino's products after winning a contest put on by the snack food company.

The following is a press release from Cone Communications.

Totino’s formally announces Lori Wilson of Walpole as one of eight winners in its 2012 Totino’s Fun-Atic of the Year Contest. As a winner, Wilson will receive 10,000 Bonus Box Tops For Education and her photo will be featured on select packages of Totino’s Party Pizza during early 2013.

As a teacher, Wilson is passionate about engaging parents at her school to collect Box Tops and is always coming up with ways for more parents to get involved. Her school – Boyden Elementary School in Walpole– will receive the 10,000 Bonus Box Tops, a $1,000 value, that she’s won from Totino’s. She hopes the funds will be put toward meeting the school’s goal of building a new playground.

The passion Wilson’s family has for pizza night is as strong as her passion for Box Tops – it’s become a weekly tradition for her family to have pizza night every Friday. “It’s our end of the week treat and an easy dinner plan, especially after a long week of work, school and sports,” Wilson says.

During the month of January, Wilson and seven other Totino’s Fun-Atic contest winners will be featured on select packages of Totino’s Party Pizza. The special edition boxes also feature double Box Tops and are now available in the freezer section of grocery stores nationwide.

“We’re thrilled to recognize Lori as one of our 2012 Totino’s Fun-Atics,” said Carina Sarbaugh, associate marketing manager for Totino’s. “As Fun-Atics, these eight individuals are dedicated to making learning and family time more fun. We congratulate them and hope they’ll continue advocating for fun, both in school and at home.”

The 2012 Totino’s Fun-Atic of the Year contest was held in June 2012 and asked U.S. consumers to answer a few questions about themselves, why they think education and family are important and what project they would like to fund at their selected schools, if chosen as a winner. More than 1,700 entries were received. All entries were judged based on creativity/originality (33%), quality of submission (33%), and fit to contest theme (34%).
