5 Things, Dec. 1-2: Holiday Pops Concert, Winter Farmers Market and More

1. Holiday Pops Concert

The Parkway Concert Orchestra - a 50 piece orchestra - will be performing Sunday Dec. 2, at 3 p.m. at St. Mary's Parish, 205 Washington Street, East Walpole.

Matthew Fritz conducts the non-profit orchestra in classical and pops holiday songs, including selections from The Nutcracker Suite by Tchaikovsky, 'A Christmas Festival' by Leroy Anderson, and 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.' The proceeds of this concert will benefit the Pastor's Scholarship Fund.

3. Walpole Winter Farmers Market

What vegetables could possibly grow in the winter season locally? Come find out at the Winter Farmers Market. The Market wil be open Sunday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., inside the VFW, 109 Robbins Road in Walpole off Rt. 27; next door to the Johnson Middle School.

Shoppers will have the opportunity to purchase locally grown produce and locally made foods. A variety of crafts among other items will also be available for purchase.

4. Potters Place Gallery Hours

Potters Place, a not for profit pottery school and cooperative studio located at 127B Old West Street in Walpole, will be hosting gallery hours for holiday shopping.

Potters Place clay artisans will open their studio door on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to sell their wares. Credit, debit, cash and checks accepted. A percentage of each sale goes to Potters Place, a not for profit pottery school.

5. Where to Buy a Christmas Tree in Walpole

It's that time of year and Christmas trees and holidays lights are popping up in people's windows in Walpole.
