UPDATE: Walpole Man Killed in Boat Racing Accident

The 73-year-old Walpole man, who has not been identified, was participating in a power boat competition over the weekend, according to Boston.com.

 

UPDATE: According to an article in the Boston Globe, authorities have identified Peter Hurwitz as the 73-year-old Walpole man who died Sunday when his boat flipped over during a power boat competition in Taunton.

A 73-year-old Walpole man was killed Sunday when the boat he was operating in a power boat competition flipped over, according to an article on Boston.com.

The man was participating in the Bill Giles Hometown Taunton Cup Regatta sanctioned through the American Power Boat Association over the weekend.

The boat flipped at the end of a race Sunday at Watson Pond in Taunton, according to a Massachusetts Environmental Police spokesman, the article says.

The death is under investigation and the identity of the man has not been released.
