Learn the benefits of learning about martial arts.
The owners of Impact Martial Arts on High Plain Street sat down with Walpole Patch and answered some questions to let readers know more about the benefits of learning martial arts.
Patch spoke with owners Matt Abate and Patrick Lynch.
Patch: How long have you been operating your business in Walpole and why did you choose Walpole?
Impact: We have been operating in Walpole for almost eight years and have found Walpole and the surrounding towns to be great family communities that are committed to their health and well being and the well being of others.
Patch: Why do parents sign their kids up for martial arts?
Impact: Parents enroll their kids at Impact because they are looking for a fun activity that will develop confidence, focus and self esteem while also promoting good heath and fitness and personal safety.
Patch: Who can learn martial arts at Impact?
Impact: We have students as young as 2 and as old as 60, martial arts training is truly for anyone that wants to be healthy and safe.
Patch: What are some of the benefits of learning martial arts?
Impact: Martial arts training has many benefits beyond its core benefit of personal safety. Students can expect to improve their strength, balance, conditioning and self confidence regardless of their current level of athleticism and fitness. Martial arts is unique because students strive to reach individual goals in a group, or, better said, a community environment. A martial arts school is a perfect place to form friendships and make personal improvements.
Patch: How did you get involved in martial arts?
Impact: We got into martial arts originally because it was a good way to get a great workout with a purpose. Learning and exercising together keeps activities from getting boring, martial arts always has another goal or challenge to work towards. Additionally, learning to defend yourself may be one of the best decisions you could make.
