15-Month-Old Boy Injured in 95 South Car Crash

All lanes of a southbound stretch of the highway were closed from shortly before 1-2 p.m. after the incident.

12:30 p.m., Sun. UPDATE- According to reports, a 36-year-old man, a 33-year-old woman, a 5-year-old boy and the 15-month old were in the car at the time of the accident.

7 News is reporting that the family is from Lexington.

The boy is currently being treated at Children's Hospital in Boston.

5:45 p.m. UPDATED-MyFoxBoston is reporting that that Massachusetts State Police is investigating whether weather was a cause of the crash Saturday on Route 95.

They are also reporting a family from Lexington was involved in the crash, and a 15-month-old boy is in stable condition Saturday night after it was first believed by state police that he suffered mortal injuries. The child was revived at Norwood Hospital before being transported to Children's Hospital with severe injuries, according to MyFox Boston report.

2 p.m. UPDATE Southbound I-95 is back open, according to CBS Boston.

Two reported crashes on Interstate 95 in Walpole involved severe injuries and caused the closure of all southbound lanes between exits 10 and 11, according to CBS Boston radio. Both crashes happened shortly before 1 p.m., according to the radio station.

CBS Boston earlier reported:

According to State Troopers on scene, a single car veered off the right side of the highway and crashed into a pole around the Coney Street exit.

Two other cars collided about 100 yards down the highway. State police are looking into whether or not one crash led to the other.
