Walpole rang in the holiday season Saturday with thier annual Santa parade and tree lighting ceremony in the center of town.

Thousands gathered on Common Street and Main Street in the early afternoon to get a glimpse of Santa during the parade.

Later in the evening residents packed the Town Common to see the giant pine tree lit up and enjoy free hot cocoa and caroling.

The events were put on by the Walpole Chamber of Commerce and the Walpole Recreation Department.
