Norwood Hospital recently honored Michelle DaSilva, RN, of East Walpole, as its 2012 Nurse of Distinction. DaSilva has been a nurse at the hospital since 1985 and has worked in the Emergency Room (ER) since 1992.

The Nurse of Distinction honor is an annual award that recognizes an extraordinary nurse who exhibits clinical and service excellence, collegiality, and professional development, while serving as a resource to patients, families and peers. The award presentation caps off Nurses’ Week, which honors all of the nursing staff at the hospital.

In nominating her for the award, DaSilva’s ER colleagues said, “Michelle consistently cares for her patients with enormous compassion and is an invaluable educational resource to her colleagues.”
